I've gotten a file that seems to defy all attempts to convert it, ffmpegX's fast DVD just runs for 13 hours without producing anything, I did the fast DivX, and my 703 meg original file becamse a 409 meg file horribly out of sync. It plays just fine in Quicktime or VLC, but I can't get the thing to convert to anything else....any ideas? Suggestions?

Hrm. I cant even open KVCD mpegs in QT player. When I try QT jumps to 100% CPU and then doesn't do anything. I've had the same results for 5 or 6 different KVCDs. I've waited up to 40 minutes before but it doesn't open. As a result I tend to just burn them onto CD and playback from there.
Since VLC can play them, perhaps its 'stream to file' feature might help you - it's supposed to be able to stream any file it can play to an mpeg or avi stream. However, it has never worked for me despite many attempts, and the VLC interface for it is one of the worst I've ever seen
Good luck!
