  1. Hello,

My current software sometimes has issues dealing with Anime DVD conversion and subtitles.

I am using DVD decrypter to rip the DVD but have no idea which mode to use.
Also need advice attaching subtitles successfully to the encoded file.

    any help is appreciated, thanks!

You might get better results using DVDFab Decrypter to rip the DVD. If you want your video in MKV format, you might try MakeMKV, though I'm not sure how well MakeMKV handles subtitles.

What end format do you want your DVDs encoded to? As I mentioned, best to rip the DVD first, then convert from that.

I need an mp4 container and I playback the videos on my cell phone or ipod. I am not sure how I am supposed to deal with the video file and the subtitles. I prefer japanese audio and English subtitles.
    thanks

Hmm... someone else will probably need to jump in, here, as I don't normally work with MP4s all that much. Worse, every portable device (phone, iPod, etc.) tends to be rather picky and want the MP4s encoded in such a way that the videos won't work with any other portable.

I think Xvid4PSP might have some presets for creating MP4s for portables/phones. Xmedia Recode might, too.

Try handbrake. There are presets for ipod and you can select the audio and subtitles you want.
