    Hi,

Yes I am a noob and I don't know what I'm doing. I usually just open files with VLC and call it a day. However I recently got these files with a MKV tag and NOTHING will play them properly. In VLC the audio plays but the video itself is messed up. I did a bit of research and downloaded DivX, RealAlternative, CCCP, the newest Windows Media Player and none of tem work. These are all different from VLC however and it seems that the video is just running very slowly. The video seems to crawl while the audio plays normally.

Please any help would be incredible sorry if I'm to much of a noob.

I installed all of these, and the video is still playing slow and not keeping up with the audio.

    If it is a high-definition h264 you're dealing with,
perhaps CoreAVC decoder is the only way to make
your PC play it back smoothly.
