As I found this feature of chaptering every 10 min very convinient, I used this on a few DVDs.All of these DVDs have problems, independant of Media and burning method.Without this feature they work fine.
The problems are either a short stop every 2 min or so on one player, or a complete freeze on another one.In the PC everything plays fine.
Rewinding just before the troublesome spot and then playing works until a next (normally 2 min further) is reached.
After Reauthoring (demuxing the DVD on to HDD and then Reauthor - without autochapter) everything is fine.
    Any ideas, what's happening?

  2. You have a cheap DVD player, no? Some don't like authoring software's chaptering. I had to basically throw out my apex for a Toshiba because I couldn't stand the problem. AFter getting a better brand player every chapter point works like a charm.

Chaptering is not that problem, it's just chptering with Tmpgenc Author using autochapter.
They are not really cheap onr, but not major brands.

  4. I do not think tmpgenc is the problem. I use auto chapter for 2 mins, 3 mins, 4 mins, 5 and 6 on several dvd. And my movies played fine on sony (3 models), panasonic (2 models). This is not include few DVD I send to my friends and I have no ideal what brand names they use but non of them complaint about chapter.

    Something else cause the problem?

I don't really know.Only DVD authored with autochapter don't work. All other DVDs (either different Authoring tool or manual chaptering) do work.
I tried everything with the same media (DVD+RW) and different burning tools:the same results.
