I'm using a template with 6 chapters per page. In Page 2 of the menu, I want to move the last chapter to Page 3. In other words, I want only 5 chapters on Page 2. Is there anyway to do this? Unfortunately there is no template for 5 chapters per page. I need to do this immediately!!!!

I have no idea what you're talking about. What is this "page" thing you refer to?

    I use TDA 1.x a lot for menu-less discs. I use chapters.

    Screen shot of the software?

In the New Themes templates, see Track Menu Layout 6 (#3). That's what I used. It has 6 chapters per page.
I want to move a chapter to the next page.

I don't use Tmpgenc DVD Author, but on all the authoring apps. I've tried in the past, even if you choose a template with X number of chapter frames, they won't all be used if there aren't enough chapters to fill them all.

    Did that make sense?

What I'm saying is that if you choose a 6 chapter template, but only have five chapters, that's how many the authoring application will use and show. It won't show 6 just because you chose the 6 chapter template.

I don't think you can do that without some serious jockeying. You might not be able to do it at all and still use templates.

I have about 20 chapters total. I just want to take the 12th one off the end of page 2 and move it to the beginning of page 3.

How about just making your own custom templates? Make a couple templates that are identical except for the number of chapters on each page. Would that work?

How do I customize Track Menu Layout 6 (#3), to include only 5 chapters per page? I tried using the 5 chapter template, but that includes images and those images are what gets highlighted when you move the cursor over them. and I do not want images on my menu pages.

Don't use template, make your own menus. There are guides here that can possibly help.

I believe when you are in the Create Menu screen click the pull down tab in the upper left and go to "New Theme"

Here are a couple of guides, not sure if they include how to do what you want really, but for general info you may want to read thru them:

To all of you directing me to DVD Author 2.0 links, I have 1.6, as I stated in my title.
I cannot use 2.0 because I keep my editing computer offline for safety purposes
and you cannot install 2.0 unless you are online.

I recall using a trial version of 1.6. Ended up buying the retail version of Tsunami DVD Author Pro, which I think is the same thing. I'm now using a free upgrade called Tsunami-MPEG DVD Author Pro.

Try inserting a new chapter between the two that will break from 5 to 4 per page. If you have a custom menu procedure, follow it and select the 5 image chapter template. As you go (using "Next Page") from the Title Menu to the Ist page of the Chapter Menu, Click on the first image and you should see a box formed around it. Move your Cursor over the lower right hand corner until you see the diagonal arrows, click and hold while pushing toward the center of the Box and reduce same to its minimum size. Click and hold and you can place it where ever you want; then you can click once on the "Chapter Text" to form a box and then click and hold in said box and move it opposite the first Image (Thumbnail Box). Repeat the process until all of the first series of Standard 5 chapter pages are completed.

On the page where you want only 4 chapters, the dummy chapter will now be the 5th chapter on the page. Do everything the same as before, except on that fifth chapter, when you edit the text, just delete it. Complete all subsequent pages the way you started.

You will have 5 chapters on every page, the Dummy chapter will be nothing more than a small button that works, but I assume that when navigating thru the menu you would skip over any button without corresponding text.

If 5 chapters on every page will work, forget the dummy chapter.

As I said, there is no 5 chapter template, except with images, which I do not want. I tried creating a "dummy chapter" but when you use the "skip" button on the remote control the DVD stops at that chapter and the client did not like that.
