Hi All.
I recently got a new phone the Nokia 7600, one of the first 3G phones. It can play and record video clips using the .3gp format.
Anyway after some experimenting I thought Id share my findings with people.
I downloaded Nokia Multimedia Convertor from the Nokia site. I then ripped an episode of Futurama from a DVD to my hardrive, (it was about 800mb)
I then open this .vob file in Nokia Multimedia Convertor and ran it through using the default settings. (I was quite suprised that it had no problem with the AC3 audio)
Eventually the finished file was only 12mb big (22 mins long).
I then sent this to my phone (Using Nokia PC suite) and hey presto I then had an episode of Futurama to watch on the train to work.
The Nokia 7600 phone only has 30MB memory but this could mean you could still get 50 mins of video on there, prob more if you used a lesser quality setting in NMC.
