  1. just wantedt o know how many of you have converted divs to dvd. and how fast?. im on a pentium3 800mhz and it takes 8hours to convert a movie. it slow, i know, but how long would it take on say a pentium4 2.6ghz or 2.8ghz with 512mb ram. thinking on buying, one but wanted to know if its faster or not.

    Can't tell you about pentium4 but AMD 2.1 + 768 ram on w2k just done a divx file of 66mins and encoded it in 50mins at full dvd spec (1pass) .

  3. wow! thats pretty fast. amds are slower then pentiums. so in theory does this mean if a amd 2.1 can do it in 50mins, then a p42.8 should be much quicker.

    also do u think memory make a difference. if i have 512mb would conversion be faster if i had 768mb, like u hav.

  4. I have a celeron 2.6mhz 512 RAM

    I convert my stuff using TMPGEnc Plus normally 58 min divx at 800mbs movie takes 115 min So its like 15 extra min. to convert it to a 1/2 DVD MPEG-2 352x480

  5. thats not a bad speed thundercrush but ur using a resolution of 352x480 whereas im using a standard ntsc or pal resolution, whcih is approx 720x576 for pal and 720x480 for ntsc.
