  1. I have just bought Pinnacle Studio 9. I had Studio 8 but was unable to burn using it because it did not support my DVD burner. I have an NEC DVD+RW ND-1100A burner.

I used Pinnacle Studio 9 to create disc content but did not burn it to disc. I then tried to burn it to a Memorex DVD+RW disc. It burnt it OK but when I tried to play it on my home DVD player (a Sony DVP-S7700) it does not recognise the disc. This is also true when I put the disc in both of my DVD players on my PC.

So I have two questions really. Is there a way that I can make Pinnacle Studio burn DVDs that my home DVD player supports (according to Sony it supports DVD+RW discs)? If not, can I take the disc content that I burnt to my hard disk and burn it using another program (I have Nero Express SE installed with the PC)? If I can, how do I do it?

    Thanks in advance,

    Alastair

Yes, you can burn the disc image made by Pinnacle using another program. Just locate the DVD file folder that Pinnacle created and look inside for the folders named VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS. Use those 2 folders to create a DVD using another program such as Nero. With Nero, just select the DVD-Video template and load in those 2 folders. Rename VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS into all CAPS if they aren't already.

  3. Thanks for the reply. Slight problem though! When I look at the DVD folder that Pinnacle has created the Video_TS folder exists but no Audio_TS folder exists.

Also, will all of the menus that I created be automatically captured or will I have to use the burning program (Nero in this case) to actually create the menus and chapters?

ONLY thake the files that live inside the VIDEO_TS folder that studio made for you and drag then into the VIDEO_TS folder that Nero made for you when choosing the DVD/Movie template. Burn.

Do not drag the folders into Nero, just the files. I assume you did not create and IMAGE file. That is, a single file that has to be image burned.

It's funny, you say that Stidio does not recognize your NEC burner. I had an external NEC 1300 series DVD-+RW and it worked with Studio 8. I now have version 9 but no longer have the NEC burner so I can't say if it would have worked with 9 or not. I wonder if they reduced the # of burners it could use. Have you updated your studio 9 to the latest patch? That might help.
