I want to ripp subs off a dvd so I use the text in a word document like word pad. I am trying to ripp the susb off one of my dvds so i can place it over another dvd using an authoring programme, but I need the the subs in a text format so I can work out where they will be going.
All help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

SubtitleRipper to SRT format will do the trick. Takes a little manual input to teach the OCR routines to recognize the characters, but after a while it gets going pretty much without your intervention.
Then use SubtitleStudio to convert to virtually any other text based sub format.
