  1. For all those who use after effects, I have a quick question. I downloaded the trial and before I buy it, I wanted to know if you can date/time stamp in it. I read here it can be done but the search has yielded zilch. Is it possible or am I wasting my time? I'm pulling in info from my camcorder through firewire. I know dv time stamp will do it, but before I purchase that, I'm a little concerned with the text quality.

Any after effects junkies that might know? Thanks.

  3. If I am reading this right, this sounds like something you should be able to do with your video editing software (like Vegas 4.0) using a text mask.

  4. I'm not sure. I have tried alot here. I recently did the one where you drag it to create a css file or something but the blue box never goes away. I really think the dv time stamp will work. but I just wasn't happy with the pixel quality but if I have to use it, then I will. I heard after effects would so I downloaded it to try it for 30 days. I have adobe premier pro, ulead workshop 2.0, and I still can't seem to find anything.

    Thanks for all your help.

Take a look at Premiere Pro. You should be able to create a text layer to overlay over your video (text mask). Then all you have to do is type the date/time/etc. right on top of your video & then resize it & place it in the corner of your project window.

If you are looking for a cheap & easy program to do this with, Vegas has an LE version which supports up to 3 or 4 video layers. Just insert a new text layer on top of your video. The rest is pretty easy.
