    Hi,

Having a few problems copying my DVDs.

After extracting the .AC3 and .m2v files from the DVD with 'Extractor' or 'OSEx' I can't bring the .m2v file into DVD Studio Pro 2 or Compressor. The .AC3 works fine, can someone please help me before I go insane.

    CHEERS!

  2. What are you planning to do in DVDSP? Is there a reason you need to re-encode in compressor? If you have the elementary streams just use Sizzle to author yuor DVD. If you need to import into DVDSP, first see if the .m2v opens in Quickitme with the mpeg-2 playback component. If so then try a timecode fix with MoreMissingMPEGTools' BTS function. If we had a better understanding of what you are trying to do, we could help you more.

    Thanks Pixeljam!

The main reason to use DSP is to create my own DVD's with elements from other DVDs. Also, I live in Australia and it is the arse end of the world, a lot of our DVD releases are lacking in extras so I'd like to add my own from other sources (TV doco's for example).

My main little project at the moment is to recut my copy of 'Memento' with Final Cut Pro, so it plays backwards (in chronological order) like on the Region 1 and 2 releases.

Still, I'm also curious why a program that's suppose to accept .m2v files isn't taking these particular ones???

    Many Thanks!

  4. Use the OSX utility called "MPEGAPPEND". Works like a charm. You simply drag your m2v file on top of it and it repairs your file for import into DVDSP.

Rip your sections with YadeX and your m2v and ac3 files won't be damaged in the process. For some reason, 0Sex corrupts frames (of ac3 files especially).

Using YadeX I go down to the 'object' level to find the exact I-frame to begin the extraction of a section.

Thanks! I'll let you know how I get on once I get a chance to try these suggestions.

    BINGO!

The .m2v file from YadeX imports into DSP no probs. I'm nearly impressed, YadeX seems to do everything except its .ac3 files won't import into DSP -- give me strength! It's a shame, as I say, it does everything else you need to copy a DVD with one program.

I still haven't tried MPEG Append yet.

I'm surprised your ac3 files wouldnt import after extracting from YadeX. However, I believe you can use mAC3dec to fix them. I used that program a lot in the past to fix broken ac3 frames, because DVDSP1 just didn't like anything at one point...

    Thanks,

Maybe it was just this file, I'll try other AC3's or use the file from OSEx.
