I have a new hyundai computer package with a dvd dual dvdrw-r dvd rewritable compact disc rewritable burner. I think from a website written on the tower "www.drvupdate.com" that it may be a BCE5216IM or similar if that helps. I have tried using cyberlink power producer and can make good copies, however they will only play in the computer and not in my 3 stand alone players. In the standalones the disc just keeps spinning and I get the message 'loading' I have tried using several different brands of blank dvds with the same result. I have searched this forum and found many similar issues but not anything the exact problem. Please help me as I have no idea what I am doing and you all seem to know exactly what you are talking about. thanks in advance,
    Marni

I don't think there is a definate answer to this. I have 2 standalone players that play some dvd's, but not others. Usually at least one of them plays the disk. In your case you may have 3 that are dodgy. I suggest getting down to the dvd dealers and try a dvd in all their machines. They won't mind if they think a sale will result.

You should try DVDSHRINK and DVD DECRYPTER both free programs and used by many people on this forum.

  7. match your writer with your media, since you don't know what writer you have that could be very tricky. left column, dvd media or dvd writers for media choices once you find out what it is.

I have a friend with a BTC1004 and they are a bit picky with media , it seems happy with Ritek -Rs , It seemed to be Princo discs it strugled with.

It is definately worth getting a couple of DVD-RW or +RW to use till you are confident with your process .

Okay, so I am using Nero burning rom and nero express 6 I can get everything to happen ok up until I press next and the next screen should have burn at the bottom right hand corner but there is no way to click on it it is there but not clickable if you know what I mean. when trying to put files into the video_ts folder I get an error message saying to change my cache preferences - what should I change them to and how do I actually put the files into the video_ts folder when I click on add??

you are all being so helpful but I am just not quite getting it,
    thanks

That sounds like you havent got enough space left on your h/d to store the files while they are being burned.
What size drives are you running ?
I would guess your windows partition has less the 4 gig to spare...This is asumming you are draging files from a disk as nero needs to cache them onto your h/d for faster/safer transfer.

On your desktop, click on the My Computer...click once on the C drive so that it's highlighted...then look over to the left side of that window...it'll tell you the capacity of your hard drive and how much space is free.

Make sure your Recycle Bin is emptied out...and if you use Norton, you'll have to right click on your Recycle Bin and select Empty Norton Protected Files to get rid of anything you tried to delete.

Actualy right click on the C drive and click properties.
If the file system of the HD is FAT32 it will have 4GB file limit
You need NTFS file system for DVD surely. iOOi 's technical point was a valid one.

Unless its a .iso or someother disk image the file size and the fat32 limit isnt a problem as no 1 file is 4 gig+ the whole disk is YES but its made up of lots of small files.

Quite possible yes but how much free space does it have ? Is it partitioned into smaller drives ?
    ie C, D, E etc...
Either of the methods mentioned will bring up a pie chart showning used and free space.
