I need a way to fix a large *.m2v file. I am not sure what is wrong with it, but TDA doesn't like it. (There are no visiable clips within TDA to edit for example and it crashes when i try to output it.) On the other hand, the video seems to play ok in a regular player. But other author programs (dvd-lab) do not like this m2v file.
I was thinking about coverting the m2v to AVI, then recoding to MPEG2, presumable to fix the problem. The video is about 3 hours (4GB+), so I think this approach to fixing the problem would be a mess.True?
So could frameserving this MPEG2 file to an AVI fix type program be the way to go? I am new to the idea of "frameserving" so I am not sure if this would be helpful. Not exactly sure what frameserver will do for me. (in general and specificially to this problem)
Thanks!

Are you sure it is a DVD compliant file ?
You could load the file into virtualdubmod, and then click on file/information and check that the m2v file meets dvd specifications for resolution and frame rate. The file may not be DVD compliant.
If it isn't, you will need to re-encode the video. You can just load the .m2v file into your encoder of choice (e.g. TMPGEnc Plus, Mainconcept) and select a suitable DVD template/preset. Not sure that frame-serving would help you too much here, but for your general query there are some excellent frameserving user guides in to the left (taught me how to do it anyway!) -
Thanks!
When I did as you suggest v.dubmod crashed. The error memory out of bounds error.
It must be related to the file being out of spec. I think it needs a recoding? Is there any other way?
hey... where do I start to learn how to use frameserver type tools or a "Wrapper"? Is an Aviwrapper the same as frameserving?
