    I just got the drive (OEM) and fairly new to dvd burners.

    I'm sure I haven't installed something and what not.
    I did install the MPEG-2 Codec which recognized the DVD as to play it on windows media player, but the player says there is no 'compatible decoder' installed.

    Do I also have to install a driver for the drive. Is there even one offered anywhere for this drive.

    Anyway, thanks for any help I can get.

    Try installing a software dvd player like WinDVD or PowerDVD.
