I was curious as to what format most commercial DVD's are.....
1. Are they all DVD9 (some movies I back up are less than 4 gigs) ?
2. What formats are they + or - ?
3. Are they somehow obtainable ?
4. Would our DVD burners support writing to them ?

Commercial discs (DVD-ROM) are pressed, not burned. You the home user can not produce these type of discs. You can however take your master to a replicating house and pay them to make as many copies as you wish pressed on 4.70gb single or 8.54gb double layer.

There's a bit of good info at that site. Jim's got a great book worth checking out as well. I'd recommend it to anybody."There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge, and I knew we'd get into that rotten stuff pretty soon." -- Raoul Duke
