I'm fairly computer savvy.
But my little brain can't quite wrap itself around how to make a DVD using CD&G files.
Here's what I'm attempting to do.
Take songs from the karaoke discs I have and transfer them to a DVD disk.
I'm thinking I can save some space in the case that way. Take less disks, and still have the songs.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. i.e. Program to use, helpful hints, tips or tricks.
Thanks oh so much in advance!
If it's not too much trouble. Please e-mail me the answer.

Put Karaoke in the subject line..So I know it's not spam.
Have a great day!

( i used something called search...and searched for karaoke...) -
You could always rip them to mp3+g - stuff them on a dvd (iso mode) and buy a capable standalone that plays mp3+g's (I only know of 1)

Just copy to the dvd as a data dvd. I don't know of any karaoke players that play dvds yet, might be some.

Very interesting Roderz. Could you please share with us who makes this mystery DVD player?

By doing a google search for "original discs into this exciting new format", one can easily discover the secret.
But if you live in the United States -- Tough S@#%!
The originator of this thread might check out the CAVS Super CD+G format at cavsusa.com. This will allow one to put 800 karaoke songs on a DVD, and if you fork over another 20 for their conversion program, you can use mp3+g as the source. -

See when people don't get spoon-fed they can find things out
Looks like the end of CD+g to me..
Glad to be of some use -
Well, MisFitChicks, if you just wanted to go the DVD route, then you could use something like cdg2avi, and get an avi compatible DVD player....or convert to VCD and author to DVD. You won't get 800 avi's on a DVD, though....and you would get even fewer VCD's.
SCDG's are a pain to make. So, the player that Roderz mentioned would be the easiest route...but for a karaoke show, the CAVS is more professional, since you can directly enter the song number on the keypad and push play. With the AWF unit, maybe you would need to navigate an on-screen folder structure. CAVS also has a hard-drive based unit which would eliminate disc swaps altogether...but it is quite pricey.
I have the CAVS SCDG unit. It works well, and a benefit of SCDG over CD+G (besides the obvious) is that you no longer have to worry so much about dust or fingerprints causing messed-up graphics. (this would also be an advantage of the AWF unit) -
