  1. I am trying to backup my movie and DVD shrink, DVD decrypter, and Smartripper all won't complete the backup. I have cleaned the disc with water and a cleaning solution that uses that turnstile, but to no prevail. Some programs say the copyright won't let it be backed up, but i thought Decrypter was supposed to take care of that. Is there anything else that can be used to try a backup.

    Thanks

  2. Do you mean not any of the softwares you've mentioned can completely rip the movie onto your hard drive? A read error box would pop up during the ripping process?

  3. Yes, the old 'cyclic redundancy' box pops on DVD shrink, and the others tell me that copyrights hinder the process.

  4. That actually happened to me once when I tried to rip a different region DVD,
is the DVD you're trying to rip also a different region disc?
Both of my drives are RPC-2, could not find any firmware patches for them, what I did was change my DVD rom drive to the region of the DVD I tried to rip, and it worked.

  5. My Regions are the same on both the disc and the DVD Drive, any other suggestions? I got some of the files on the disc but not all. Although they are on the hard drive Clone DVD will still not copy the files to disc. It says can not find a certain .IFO file.

  6. I'm trying my best here...

First, do you have any region free software installed? Like ANYDVD or RegionFree ( I forgot the exact name of it, you can go to www.rpc1.com to download the trial and also look for the region patch firmware for your DVD drives) See if that work.

Secondly, you said you were able to rip some files from the DVD but can't burn because of missing ifo file, if the files you ripped has the whole movie in it, all you need to do is create the .ifo files with IFOEdit then it can be burn onto a disc. Only it wouldn't have menu.

    Good Luck

  7. Faithful. This is how I rip my movies. I use DvD Decrypter. I press the
MOSE button and scroll down to IFO. I press IFO and it will decrypt only the main part of the movie in chapters. I still get the vobs, ifo that I need to then use DVD2One to compress the movie. I hope this is helpful

  8. Ok, I did what Renegade said and it does work for me. But the problem I have now is that it won't copy with CloneDVD. It already is compressed enough but cloneDVD says, " DVD Manager 5 1 common 0 4294967269 1
Error opening video files from E:/moviename/VIDEO_TS"

    Any thoughts on this one.
    Thanks

  9. Mwturtle1, I don't use clonedvd so I am unable to assist you. When you compressed with dvd2one you must have the full version. If you don't, I
believe the trail version will compress about 10minutes of the movie. I am sure when you compressed you send it to a different folder. Copytodvd will allow for at least 15 free copies during the trial version so you know that it works. I hope you find this helpful
