  1. Hi all,

Have noted there are articles on this..but was wondering what specific experiences folk have had with the leadtek winfast tv card and Ulead video studio 6se (bundled). Its what I have got, fairly happy with the card in the general sense. I capture from a dv camera-am interested in maximising capture quality. What expectations should I have in terms of quality, it does seem as if some image quality is lost from DV to hard drive. Prior I have used the winfast PVR optimal mpeg 2 settings (unsure as to what exactly they are), convenient-would I be better off capturing via Ulead video studio 6se? Note that there are some advanced settings in Ulead, would these enhance capture? Would capture via a firewire card be of better quality? These seem relatively inexpensive now. My sys..is AMD XP1600, 512 meg ddr ram, 60 meg 7200 HD (all partitioned, capture to 40 meg partition, dedicated to that task), ATI Radeon 9600xt card, leadtek winfast tv tuner. Your thoughts, exuse the newbie ness of this post...

  2. If you have a DV video camera with a firewire port. The best quality would be to use firewire(it copies so no loss involved).
Once the video is on your PC, convert to what ever format you want to with software on your PC.
You would need to buy a firewire PCI card for you PC, and a firewire cable.
You can use VideoStudio software for capturing and converting.
