The codec tool called AVIcodec outputs files in its own format, .c__ something. and I chose Notepad to look at it. Too bad, now it only uses Notepad and I can't undo it. How do I get Win98se to open it with a different program, most likely AVIcodec? I've tried to uninstall it and deleted all files and rebooted but no good. Thanks.

In Windows Explorer go to Tools >> Folder Options >> File Types (Tab). Scroll to the file extension (File Types) you wish to change. Select it and edit it to what application you like the extension to be associated with.
The above should be close but not exact. It's been over a year since I went from W98SE to W2k so I couldn't check out the sequence I gave you in W98SE, only is W2K which is slightly different.

Same as above, but under W98 Gold, it's:
...go to View >> Folder Options >> File Types (Tab). Scroll to the file extension (File Types) you wish to change. Select it and edit it to what application you like the extension to be associated with.
Actually, I've ben looking for something like this myself. To bad it's not more simple
to do. I wish I could do this under Delphi..oh well.
