  1. Yesterday I got a DRU510 with the hope that it will burn those printable Ritek G04 at 4x and it did but after the first 4 or 5 in a row it went down to 2x and no matter what hardware and software changes I made it won't burn them at 4x anymore.
    Any help would be appreciated!

Check to see if the drive's current transfer mode is in Ultra DMA Mode.

  3. All my drives run at UDMA mode. I in/uninstalled the burning program /RecordNow DX/ and the IDE drivers several times, tried Master/Slave mode, tried Riteks from 3 different batches wthout any result. In the same time BeAll 4x -R and Memorex 4x +R burn fine at 4x on both my 500AX and 510A. Maybe the problem is with the discs. What do you think?

  4. I recently purchased some Ritek DVD-r 4x disks from Newegg. It writes at 4x but gives an error when writing the lead-out. I have never burned a coaster until I started using Riteks. My firmware is 10b I think(I used Nero Tools). Maybe updating would help? Anyone know if that works? Should I update to 10c, 10d or 10f?
Also what is the Intel Application Accelerator? I can't find it on my Dell
    computer.
Thanks in advance for any info.

  5. I have this drive and Ritek G04's were the first and only discs i've ever used - not 1 coaster yet, all burned at 4x. I'm using 10f btw. I also have a Dell, and had to uninstall the Intel App Accelerator before upgrading the firmware

  6. The Sony 510A is VERY sensitive to the type of media it likes to burn. It usually like expensive name brands, and even then it's funny. Mine likes the CMC Memorex discs over the Prodisc Memorex discs, which it doesn't like to finalize.

Ritek G04 it has problems with, as well as PRINCO 4x, which it sometimes burns only at 2x. TDK 2x discs sometimes don't finalize. I finally got tired of it when customers were telling me they received discs that would not play at all, even when they were burned successfully.

I got a new Pioneer 107 with the hacked firmware. Now I burn the cheap Sky 2x media at 6x with no errors, and they play on everything I own.

I bought one of the first 500a drives, and have over 1500 burns on it.I have used Ritek,Pio,Maxell,Memorex,Optos and several house brand dvdr- discs.I think I have had 5 bad burns in total! I do not see this as being "sensitive"! I forgot my favorite is BeAll 4x printable, and I always stay away from Princo, mainly because many players have trouble with them!I currently have 7 brands and 500+ discs on hand, and would not worry about any of them!
