    I was wondering how I could convert AC3 to MP2 without Mediapipe. I dont have Xtools or the devloper CD. So are there any ways with free software for macs to convert ac3 to mp2?

    You need 2 binaries and some Terminal commandline knowledge...The tools are:

    a52dec

    mAC3dec is awsome! but....it cant encode into mp2 only mp3 and other formats.... are there any patches that i can to enable to encode mp2? If not what programs would you suggest to encode the wav, mp3 or whatever format i use into mp2?

    ffmpegX will convert ac3 to mp2, and it's pretty easy to use. (it is merely a GUI frontend to the unix app Galactica mentioned)

    mAC3dec is its own GUI front end. No command line nonsense.
    If it isn't broken, take it apart and find out why.
