Just formatted - what codec do i need to play these?

I've just had to reformat my computer and i'm trying to re-install the codecs i had before to get everything working again. Can anyone please tell me why these two videos won't play in Media Player Classic? The strange thing is that they will play in WMP 6.4 but not MPC.

I have manually installed the "mpg4vki" codec to deal with them, but MPC keeps reporting "Failed to render the file"

I hate to tell you this but BOTH of those show a correct render - which means your system can/should pley the files ok.

Did you reboot after installing the codec (some need that). If you still can't play it.. i'm stumped...

Yes it is slightly annoying. It will play fine in WMP 6.4 but not in MPC. That's a first for me. I've never seen anything that WMP can play but that MPC can't.

Even more annoying is the fact that I have another computer here which also has MPC on it and it does play the files fine. Both computers have exactly the same mix of codecs on them as well (as reported by AVIcodec).
