  1. I want to upgrade my HDD to:

Western Digital Raptor 74GB 10K RPM - Main OS

    Western Digital 8MB 250GB - Storage

Now the thing is they both use SATA connections and I have an old MB that came with my computer when I first bought it like 2-3 years ago. Should I upgrade my MB to the top of the line MB for another few years or should I wait a little longer for the new Intel chipset MB to be released with the PCA Express or whatever it's called?

  4. Upgrade your MB to to the absolute top of the line MB.

There are so many chipsets to keep track of these days. Are you referring to the Intel 875 chipset with the HR SB to support PCI-E? They're already out. I think the Asus P4P800 is one such motherboard. The 875 is going to support the 800 FSB Xeon 64 when it comes out this summer too so it's no slouch.

I got the 74GB Raptor and can't wait to give that a run on my new system. Still waiting for the motherboard and processors to be released though

I was refering to the new Intel 940 socket. When will this be released which will support presscott and 3.4+ GHz CPU's.

I'm getting an Iwill DH800 as soon as it comes out here in the US. Already available everywhere else. I dunno about the Intel 940 as I don't think it's going to be the same chipset as used in dual CPU rigs, although the 875 is used in both single and dual boards to good measure. Prehotts are already supported on the 875 chipset I believe. When the 3.4 GHz Xeons come out they will run on the DH800.
