    Hi,

Sorry if this has been posted before but I want to know about PAL interlacing compared to NTSC interlace. When I have tried converting an NTSC interlaced DVD I have to use a de-interlace filter. I don't have to use anything with a PAL interlaced movie, it seems that all the frames are progressive, they don't need any filters using to correct the image output. Can someone help me out and explain why this is?

Another example. I have all 3 series of Family Guy on DVD PAL. When I checked the stats for all DVD's it says they are interlaced, but the first 2 series need a de-interlace filter or the resolution halving to correct the image on a PC monitor but the third series is fine, it doesn't need any de-interlace filter even though it says it's interlaced.

    Thanks for any replies.

Everything plays interlaced whether or not it is stored that way.
For NTSC Film you just have to resize to 720 x 576 and re-encode
and set the frame rate to 25. Then change to audio to 25 also
