  1. I have a DIVX AVI video source, 592x288 size, 25.005 fps. I would like to
covert it to an mpeg, for burning to a VCD for playback in North America,
using TMPGEnc. Any recommended settings? Since my source is 25 fps, should I
load the PAL template, or should I load the NTSC template since playback is
intended in NorthAm? Also, what should I set the source aspect ratio and
    video arrange method to?

    Thanks.

  2. Quick and Dirty: Load the divx into TMPGenc. Load the NTSC Film VCD template. Set the Video arrange method to Full screen (Keep aspect ratio). Encode. NTSCFilm is 23.976 FPS and will play fine a DVD player.

Better Way: Load the DivX into VirtualDub, extract audio. Use VirtualDub to change the frame rate to 23.976. Then use wave editor to slow the audio down the same rate as the new avi (in Cool Edit transform time to 95.904% of original)

The Better Way takes more time, but the results are nicer.

    Good luck.
