    I just bought a new Imac running osx. I am new to macs and have a few questions

    -What is a good video encoder to use
    -What video formats does Imovie and Idvd support
    -I have been using the demo of Mpeg2 works but it wont let me convert to most of the options is this because it hasent been registered?
    yeah basically, can someone be kind enough to give me the rundown on all the good mac tools and how to get started with them?>

    What is it that you want to create? What will be your video source? How do you plan to use the resulting videos?

    i use avi, mpegs, i want to mak dvds from mpegs
    i do alot of vcd to dvd
