  1. Hi,

Does anybody know about the existence of such DVD Player?

I know that are ones that support DivX and AVI, but not sure if this type of AVI file would be supported.

I'm including a picture with the properties of the file:

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you,

    Kit :P

    I would doubt it
That's an Intel Indeo 3.2 codec
long since replaced with Indeo 4 which was in turn replaced with
Indeo (now Ligos) 5 / 5.1 which is so close to dead with MPEG 4 out

Intel release a couple of hardware encode/decode cards but this was YEARS ago - like Win95 was the new kid on the block and these cards struggled to do 320x240 15fps or 160x120 30fps - forget anything higher.

I think the codec was a YUV format with some proprietry Intel algorithms - from memory (perhaps somebody can jump in here) that is was basically a showcase for the Pentium 1 MMX chips - look at what we can do now!

The Indeo(Ligos) 5 codec was actually quite good - it used wavelet compression and had some interesting features that never got supported by software vendors (including MS) but somehow missed taking off, MPEG 2 was coming on board then.
