Well, here is what i am trying to accomplish.

Burn a 4gig dvix file on a dvd and playing it on a my standalone player.

Problem: As some of you might know you need to burn the DVD as a UDF formate to hold files larger then 2gig. The catch is, my DVD Player (and others i tested) cant read UDF format.

Samsung DVD-HD960 and yes it plays smaller dvix files (burnt under ISO format) just fine.

Split the file into <2GB segments, then name each segment with

    01.avi
    02.avi
    03.avi

    etc

The player should automatically continue to 02.avi after it is done playing 01.avi

Virtualdub can do this, as can AVIDemux. Use Direct Stream Copy mode to prevent re-encoding.
