I recorded onto a blank DVD-R disc and I finalized it and everything. Now, the problem is: when I try to play it on a DVD player, you can't see or hear a thing, but if you press display it is clearly going on because the time is increasing!
Both DVD players I have tried (the actual recorder and a normal player) play back normal DVD's with no problems visually. Does that channel set mean anything? I thought it was just like a VCR: it records whatever is on the TV.
By the way, I have a Pioneer DVR 310-S.

Does it play on your computer? Are your inputs hooked up correct? Did you select the correct input to record from? Some basic trouble shooting is required.

Well, I just kind of figured it out. Damn, this is stupid. You have to set it to a certain channel for it to record off of it. And since I want to record off of Dish Network and the channel is Aux 2 S-Video. I put it onto L3 and I think its recording now. Damn, that 3-4 hours I just spent making that disc was such a waste of time!
