  1. I have a captured file that I will be putting on DVD, before the main menu loads up though I want to add a screen of text, just for a few seconds.

How would I go about doing this?

    Thanks!

  2. Should have been better to post this under DVD Authoring. What you want to do can be very simple or complicated, depending on the authoring application you use. Which one is it?

  3. I couldn't decide between the two forums! lol, if I get no joy here I'll try the authoring one.

I am currently using TMPGs DVD authoring programme, if it can be done with that then great but if not I'll try something else.

    Hi bad_cardsuk,

I'm assuming it's static text - i.e. the text isn't rolling but is just "presented" in place on screen.

Create the text, and any fancy stuff you wanna do, in your chosen application (MS Paint, Photoshop etc.) and save as a .bmp or .jpg - you may be able to use other formats, depending on what your chosen encoder accepts. I'm giving info relating to TMPGEnc (the encoder) andd know it accepts those, maybe others.

Then use the picture file as the video source in TMPGEnc, with audio or not as you wish. Encode to MPEG2. You need to know that the length of the video clip will be dictated by the length of the audio (if used). Not sure how you set it for a specified time if you don't use any audio - I guess it's possible, hunt around in the settings relating to "Source Range" in the "Advanced" tab.

Use this file.mpg (MPEG2) as your "first play option" as GangstaMo said.

You could use Vegas Video 4 ... I've used it to make scrolling credits at the end of a video I attached on to the "007 Die Another Day" movie.

I then used TMPGEnc DVD Author to incorporate it into the DVD structure.
