I am attemping to add a video clip to the very beginning of several Divx DVD Rips. I am getting an error message that the rip is 23.97600 fps and that the video I have is 23.97602. I have tried various programs to achieve this 00 rate without success. Is there anything I can do? Also, is it necessary for the videos to be the exact same frame size? or will it just stretch one of them? Thanks.

  2. convert 23.97602 to 23.97600

first approach (ideal for intros of your videos)

    APPROACH NUMBER ONE
-- convert your video to mpeg2
-- use DVD2AVI (select FORCED FILM)
    -- save project
-- use vfapi reader to create a file from the d2v readable by virtualdub
-- save as avi (use the same codec as your movie has),it will endup as 23.976 exactly

    APPROACH NUMBER TWO
-- open your intro in virtualdub
-- in video menu select framerate
-- in framerate conversion area (middle area) type in 23.976
-- save your video again (not sure if direct stream copy or fast recompress will do , i have only tried full processing mode)
-- you will endup with a clip that is 23.976 fps

now you can join your clip with a video that is 23.976, this is ideal if the cideo you are converting is really small, in the cases where you want to convert the long video from 23.97602 to 23.976 well you will have to reencode the whole movie and that of course sucks, what is this 23.97602 anyway? why many svcds come like this?
is 23.97602 the correct film rate or is it 23.976?
