  1. Hey all! I'm thinking of buying a 100-pack of CloneDisc DVD+Rs (Ritek GO4), since at EUR0.92 ($1.13) each it's the best bargain I've found online so far. The site which is offering this deal goes so far as to claim that these are "absolutely the best discs for video and game backup... capable of recording at speeds to 8X... THE BEST DVD+R ON THE MARKET WITHOUT QUESTION". Normally I'd dismiss this as typical over-the-top marketing BS, but they're saying this about the CHEAPEST DVD+Rs in their stock. I've already checked the DVDRHelp Media listings and it only shows stats for the CloneDisc DVD-R, so my question is - are the above claims in any way realistic? How reliable have you found these discs to be, especially for PS2 backup and standalone DVD use?

    Thanks!

  2. Ritek DVD+R doesn't use the G03/G04 media ID, but R01, R02 and R03 for 2.4, 4 and 8x respectively.

I myself bought a boatload of Datasafe printable 8x ritek dvd+r, and while the media itself seems to be great it's not fully supported by my nec2500 (I noticed in your profile you had a nec yourself). It means that it'll write at 4x and not 8x until a firmware upgrade is available.

I only use the media for movies, and it's great in both my PCs nec drive and in my standalone el cheapo Daweoo.

Recommended, despite the temporary lack of 8x writing support on my nec.
