DVDDecrypter generates VOB files and some other control
files on a hard drive. Can anyone tell me how to burn
these files into a DVD-R to create a DVD Video playable on
settop players? The total amount of the VOB files and
control files of the main movie of the title I want to
burn is only 3.5 GB luckily, and should fit in a single
DVD-R.
Unfortunately, the ISO writing feature of DVDDecrypter
does not work in my case by two reasons. First, the
entire content is bigger than 5 GB and cannot fit in a
single DVD-R, and I do not want to compress it. Second,
DVDDecrypter does not seem to support my burner drive.
I cannot find any programs that can burn DVDDecrypter-
generated VOB files into a DVD-R to create a DVD Video
playable on settop players. People who know how to do
what I am asking do not need to read the rest of this
message. The following portion of this message is just a
list of methods that did not work or are not available.
I heard that PrimoDVD could do what I want. However, it
seems PrimoDVD is no longer available. I tried GearDVD.
It has turned out that GearDVD cannot read VOB files
generated by DVDDecrypter. DVDXCopy Platinum RF cannot
read VOB files generated by DVDDecrypter, either. (Due to
the court order, the manufacturer of DVDXCopy cannot ship
products with ripper function any more. So, now, they are
shipping DVDXCopy without the ripping capability.)
I also tried a DVD authoring program, namely,
PowerProducer. Even though PowerProducer can read
DVDDecrypter-generated VOB files and create a DVD Video
playable on settop players, PowerProducer re-encodes the
embedded MPEG. It took 8 hours for PowerProducer to burn
the DVDDecrypter-generated VOB files, because
PowerProducer persisted in decoding the MPEG contents
embedded in the VOB files and re-encoding it into their
own MPEG format. The loss of image quality by this
re-encoding was significant. The resultant picture was
terribly distorted in terms of aspect ratio.
Can anyone tell me which programs can take and burn
DVDDecrypter-generated VOB files into a DVD-R to create a
DVD Video playable on settop players (without decoding and
re-encoding the MPEG)?

First of all, make sure all your VOBs and "control files" are in a folder named "VIDEO_TS". Also make sure you have a folder named AUDIO_TS "beside" VIDEO_TS.
Using imgtools classic, make an ISO image of these 2 folders (and their content).
Burn this iso to DVD with "any" burning app that supports writing ISO. (Most does.)

Your best bet is Reauthoring with DVD Shrink (no need to compress)... -
Using the default settings for DVDDecrypter it should automatically create the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders anyway
As for not wanting to transcode the DVD to fit on a standard DVD blank, then unless you use, I think, IFOEdit to manual edit the menus to cut out the bits you don't want, I personally can't see how you'll achive it
You could try to rip the DVD, then use either DVDShrink or DVD2One to use just the movie only. This way you will be removing all the bits that may reduce the quality when transcoding
I use DVD2One, so can't really comment on how to do a movie only in DVDShrink
For creating the DVD from the ripped files from DVDDercrypter, I use Nero 6.xx, but all DVD burning software should do this, just point it to where the files are and the software will do the rest
There is also other free DVD burning software, but again, I can't comment on them as I use Nero for virtually everything
If you want to use Nero, just have a look at this guide on ho wto burn a DVD-Video disc on my site, and also the link on how to use DVDDecrypter to rip files

Ah - I missed that part about doing just the main title! OK, then I must say it can't be done with just DVDDecrypter (and burn) alone, I suggest you use DVDShrink in reauthor mode.

Since I thought DVDShrink was just a compressor degrading
the picture quality, I never paid attention to DVDShrink
before. However, after I found tompika and steptoe say or
imply that DVDShrink does not necessarily compress
everything, I tried DVDShrink.
It turned out great. It has an option not to compress the
main movie and to compress only the extra features and the
menus or to entirely eliminate the extra features and the
menus. Furthermore, its ability to distinguish among the
main movie, the extra features, and the menus is itself
impressive to me. DVDXCopy Platinum RF cannot distinguish
among them. Finally, I did not know that DVDShrink could
rip.
Also, mats.hogberg's mention of ImgTools was a great help
to me. I was not aware of ImgTools. DVDShrink generates
VOB files and ISO files into a hard drive. Without
ImgTools, I would not have been able to convert these VOB
and ISO files into a DVD Video playable on settop players.
(DVDShrink sounds like being able to burn DVD-R if Nero is
installed. However, I do not have Nero.)
Thanks a lot to all the three of you. -
Glad it worked. DVDShrink is pretty versatile when it comes to backing up - full disc with compression or just the main title without - works equally well. Once you have the ISO, I suggest using DVDDecrypter in ISO -> Write mode to burn it to disc - at least on my system, I've never experienced a bad burn, and there's no setting to get wrong either...

There is a sweet guide which teaches you how to use DVDXCopy and DVDShrink to remove ALL extras that you want gone, save the menus, and allow you to burn backups with either little or no compression (depending on the size of the film), and it's way easier than using IFO edit or other tools.
I've used this method to remove all extas, some extras, remove just the full screen version of a film, etc. It's awesome!
