I have gone through two of these recorders, and both will not record in color (almost every time) when set on timer recording. The DVD is recorded in glorious black and white.
This does not occur when recording is initiated without the timer.
Any comments or ideas?
Thanks

Hey Morry,
What are you recording? Tape or television? What exactly? Could it be macrovision? (that is if the B/W isn't clear) But you said "glorious" so I'm probably wrong.
Also your Philips it's a standalone recorder right? I have the same one I think.
