I just found some info I have been searching for. It says the following
RITEK LANDSCAPE
These Ritek DVD-R discs have been overprinted with a "landscape" pattern.
These discs (and all Ritek discs with the "landscape" pattern) are graded discs from Ritek's Taiwan production line i.e. they are B grade or lower.
These graded discs may contain dye imperfections that will prevent them from working as well as an A grade disc. They do however use the excellent Ritek dye, so the discs that do not have imperfections will work well. The writing surface on these discs is dark purple. It is a dilemma for us as to whether we should sell this media. These discs are, after all, amongst the cheapest "Ritek DVD+R" discs available!
When you get a pack without dye imperfections they are excellent value.
If you get a pack with dye imperfections they are poor value. The end result is a sort of DVDR lucky dip...so...do you feel lucky ?
So I will not buying these even if they only cost 20$ for 25, it's not worth the risk ending up with worthless discs!

what is the media ID on them?
there are different kinds of Riteks. -
LMao! Those discs from Pcclub are great! The tops of the disc are "ORANGE" and have these black lines on them. I haven't burned one coaster yet. I burned over 100 of those discs. Let me show you the MEDIA CODE from a burned disc using DVDINFO PRO.

This movie is from a capture I did using my CANOPUS ADVC-100 that is hooked up to my digital cable box. How do you know these discs are GRADE B? I haven't had any problems using this DVD-R media from PCCLUB.COM. I haven't burned any coasters either. They work great for me and I just got another 2 spindles of these. More for me to buy if you feel these discs are worthless to you. :P -
Media code/Manufacturer ID RITEKG04
They certainly aren't A Grade. -
hmmm why's that? If it works fine playing back on any dvd player that's all that matters to me. As I've asked before how do you know they're grade B? hmmms?

I read your post and you mention the dye quality which I understand. What I should have said should have been directed at RICHDVD. He said the media code is grade B for sure. I'm asking how would he know if it's grade B by just the media code. Is there a secret code I'm missing that I don't know about? The media code read RITEK G04. It's as if he is saying just because it's RITEK G04 they're grade B. Hope you understand what I'm trying to say.
I've read from other forum sites that RITEK G04 DVD-R is good media to use. As I've stated these discs from PCCLUB.COM have worked for me in all of my standalone dvd players I own as well as my family and friends one's. -
It's very risky you can be lucky have a good batch or unlucky get 50/50 crap batch.
if you consider any media that is risky to be Grade A, you obviously have alot to learn. Do you think that Maxell or TY media is ever "risky"... NO.
i don't have the time to waste on arguing this with you. good luck with your riteks -
I have no problems using them either ... of all the blank DVDs I've used the orange ones ... do not mess up.
My question is ... directed to person saying they are crap ...
Please post url ... or something ... directing us to where you've obtained your information.
If your going to make statements like that ... be ready to back them up.
So far ... what you're saying is ... here say. -
i never said they were crap at all.
i am saying that i would classify them as Grade B media, not Grade A.
if you guys think they are the best discs out there, fine.
whatever works for you -
richdvd....you are a ummm a funny person to laugh at....that's all I've got to say about you.....you say shit and got nothing to back it up with but what others have said or what you've read. Word of advice you need to think before you TYPE in a forum....

All manufacturers churn out various grades of media using the same media code. Even the "quality" manufacturers out there have their occasional slip-ups.
RiTEK produces very high quality media in general, that is well supported in the majority of DVD writers. -
i never said once....... that Ritek is not good.
it seems that they are really hit or miss alot of the times.
people often buy them and hope that they get a good bunch.
my theory is why gamble with them?
maybe they are starting to manufacture better media, who knows.
i am not about to order any media and hope that it is good.
it's kinda nice to know that, before they arrive.
my thoughts only, no offense meant to anyone. -

All overprints are B grade discs.
These are discs that did not meet the QA specs, and are overprinted to cover the original branding.
Ritek produces 2 grades of media for resale. Super Grade, which is for OEM use only (TDK, Verbatim). These discs have strick QA specs, which include dye layer, and cosemetic appearance. Those that meet the dye QA but not cosemetic are still sold (see bumps on your media? see bumps on TDK?). Those that don't meet the dye spec are overprinted and sold off cheap, to avoid too much money loss. Every disc vendor does this, but not all seperate their grades, instead you may recieve a mixed batch of A,B, and C grade in the same shipment (Princo). If it's a branded Ritek disc, it's super quality, if it's not branded (silver/frosted Ridata), the dye layer is the same quality, but may have slight overglue on the hub, or too many bumps on the sides. Overprinted=crap.

These discs (and all Ritek discs with the "landscape" pattern) are graded discs from Ritek's Taiwan production line i.e. they are B grade or lower. -
Overprints can also include misprints. For example: TDK branding spelled TKD or something equally dumb. They pour orange goo on top and resell.
All RITEK come from Taiwan. They are an exception to the "Taiwan is bad" rule.Want my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)

It just amuses me, how one user put about how Ritek is known for their superior media. Let me remind you, that ritek was and is considered the poorest manufacturer of CD-R's. They are absolutely horrendous. They have improved things with DVD but nowhere near consistent quality production standards.
My 2 cents. -
I think the Taiwan is bad arguement is to much of a generalization. Yes, there are Taiwanese companies that make poor discs(Princo and Lead Data) saying that all discs comming out of Taiwan is inferior isn't right.
Ritek, like all disc manufacturers, will have bad batches from time to time. Their mistake is actually selling the lower quality batches for profit and also their "bad" batches seem to leak out more often than others. The suppliers know that these are lower quality batches, but they don't tell the customers. There was an article that just recently came out regarding this issue. Ritek does make high quality discs or else TDK and other disc manufactures would not use them time and time again.
I feel that all companies are prone to leak a bad batch from time to time. Its just how many and how often. Most of the Japanese manufactures seem to have very low occurances of this. Ritek seem to have a low occurance of this issue. This is assuming that you bought the "grade" that was advertised, meaning overprints and the like do not count. I suggest you just get you discs from a reputable dealer that would not give you hassles about returning defective discs.
Ritek CDR quality has improved a lot since its beginning days. They are very good at manufacturing them now. The last couple batches of TDK's and Maxells were Riteks and I have yet to have a problem with them(some of them are two/three years old). I still wouldn't trust CMC though. I ran through six batches of CDR's from them and they all had the end of discs errors and degradtion problems. -

Just another prof that these Ritek Landscape are B grade or worse:
http://www.dvd-recordable.org/modules.php?op=modload&name=Reviews&file=index&req=showcontent&id=76
So to people like budz and lacywest, again some of these disc may have Ritek quality dye and work fine, but don't say these disc are some kind of quality discs, because they aren't, they are just bad Ritek that didn't match the Ritek quality specs......... -

Perhaps PCClub goes through them first before selling them. The ones I buy ... 25 PK ... are not shrink wrapped. And have there own price tag placed on them.
When I buy them ... the salesman turns around and grabs a 25 PK off the shelf. They are there in front of my eyes 8 feet from my nose. If there is a lemon in the pack I wont have any problem returning them. But I've ... never ... had ... a lemon in them.
I've been buying computer equipment from them since the Fall of 2001.
So ... personally ... I am not worried about what your saying. -
Oh what the heck one more time ... this is the current price PCClub in Fresno.
Espen ... I'm being fair ... there are some negative comments posted here. As for me doing a return ... I would be really surprised if they hassled me. I've spent about $1500 there over the years ... they know me there. One salesman when I walk in says to me ... "just got out of class?" ... and that was about 2 weeks ago.
If your buying these online ... yes I would worry. But I worry every time I do order blank DVDs online ... so I would rather buy these orange Ritek Landscape DVDs ... knowing I know these guys and they know me.
Blackstone and Shaw ... 20 minute drive from where I work at.

excellent value
By KIMKWOK on March 24,2004
I have used over 50 so far and they work great at 4x on my Memorex drive. I don't mind the orange top. I would like to see the black graphic eliminated. Overall, these are great value disks.
These are the BEST 4x DVD-R's
By BOBMOREHEAD on March 17,2004
I've tried most 4x name brands and they only write at 2x on my 4x dual format Liteon DVD burner. But these DVD's are true 4x. My Comp Sci class at SDSU has used around 200+ of these with only 4 coasters. WARNING TO ALL SDSU students, alumni, teachers today in the newpaper, hackers have stolen 178,000 social security numbers from the SDSU Financial Aid SERVERS so check your credit reports often to make sure your not getting ripped off.
They work great at 4x
By AZNLOKI on March 12,2004
I've used a few packs of these and so far they burn great. The fact that they "work great at 8x" scares me considering most modern burning progs will recognize the max speed of the disks are 4x and will not allow you to burn any faster. If they work great but from experience burning faster than the media is rated will result in corrupted data. For those of you that want something for nothing read this article http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=14597 but remember nothing in life is free.
Good Product, but may have difficulties.
By WESTOMATIC on March 12,2004
These are by far the best buy in dvd-r at the moment. I am using a NEC2500a 8x+ 8X- burner, the copies are successful, but as far as scene selections go on a dvd movie, the discs will not read correctly. A movie will only play through from the beginning if you dont skip chapters. I have tried in a plextor and recieved successful results, so thats good news for the media. As far as data backup I highly recommend. I would buy the 8x + r media for dvd backups, these media work nicely in my NEC2500a
HOT HOT HOT
By CCABRALES on March 12,2004
Writes well @ 8X...............
Damn Fine Product!!!
By STARCHILD on March 09,2004
I have probably been through about 100 to 125 of these myself and NO COASTERS yet. All my DVD Players can read them vs. some Verbatim discs I tried, which 1/4 of them wound up in the trash. Definately a great price for the media and I plan to by more ASAP.
DVD is as DVD does. Get some!
By BETABANGER on March 08,2004
2 Spindles so far and no coasters... If they run out at the stores, grab the manager by his pocket protector and demand him to order more!
Excellent rating for value. (20 bucks)
By J33P3RSMR on March 04,2004
Plan on throwing away a few of the 25 DVD's
GREAT MEDIA!
By RYTONBRO on March 01,2004
FOR THOSE OF YOU HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THIS MEDIA: 1. MAKE SURE YOU ARE USING ASPI DRIVER 4.6
2. MAKE SURE YOU ARE USING MOST CURRENT FIRMWARE FOR YOUR DRIVE
3. DONT BUY A PIECE OF CRAP DRIVE AND EXPECT IT TO PERFORM LIKE YOU WANT IT TO. I HAVE A PIONEER DVR-105 AND HAVE USED OVER 100 OF THESE WITHOUT 1 COASTER! IN OTHER WORDS " DONT BLAME THE MEDIA"
Great Value
By KOOKYKRAZEE on February 26,2004
Have gone through about 140 of these and they are great. As long as they are this cheap, buy what you can. Have only had 6 or 7 coaster, in all, mostly due to system lock up and such.
Buy these while you can. Great quality, even better price!!!
they work great
By PARISIOA on February 19,2004
only had a few coasters, had a few with blemishes, but i have gone through probably 125 or so of these and for what i have spent (between 20 and 30 per pack) its been a great deal.
By MRFRESNOBEE on February 13,2004
Flash here. I have a buslink 4x ± as well as a liteon 8x ± . i have burned at least 3 spindles of this stuff and i've never made a coaster / ive found 1 disc with a blemish on it . for the money it's a good buy.i ust looked over 3 spindles for damages n scrathes / none found . so i have to scrath my head / hardware issues and the biggest problem of them all between the monitor and seat need to be examined .
Very good
By LUIGY27 on February 12,2004
I like it I had no problem if you use a good burner you will be ok......
Why buy?
By ROLANDOHOME on February 12,2004
Bought a pack and learned my lesson. Don’t buy; and also Why should we buy (25) Generic's for $25.00 when you could buy (50) Name Brand DVD's for $50.00.
Fantasic Media for all DVD uses
By BDODGE59 on February 11,2004
I have used approx 50 of these without any problems. Used for DVD movie Backups and Video to DVD transfers. I have used other DVD media and all they are used for now is to keep the rings off my coffee table. Perhaps the bad reviews were not because of the DVD media but bad hardware.
Brian in Phoenix
not worth it
By KENSHINTR on February 10,2004
just bought a pack and the bottom half are worthless since there are smear all over the place. since the spindle came with no plastic wrap. it make me wonder. well since DVD media is going down. its better to wait for deal at your local officemax or office depot. you can get very good deal for brand name dvd media.
2x discs?
By DRDENTZ on February 09,2004
I have found that most of the problems I had earlier were resolved when I burned my discs at 2x. My advice is to examine the disks for visual defects BEFORE you buy because they really give you a hassle to exchange. I argued with the manager for 30 minutes before I got them replaced. Then, burn at 2x for trouble-free operations.
Crap--TWICE!
By DRDENTZ on February 08,2004
I bought a spindle of these yesterday. I went to my truck and examined them to fing that there were little "spots" in the dye on about 10 of the media. I knew these would cause burning error so I went back in. The rep told me that's the new batch, the old batch is better.(?!) The old batch looks better but the dye will not hold data from about the 10 to 12 minute mark. I've burned 5 coasters so far. These can't be real Ritek.
great stuff
By STUPERTACO on February 04,2004
i have bought 50 and they work fantastic for both data and dvd movie making!

I Bought my second spindle and each one I tried burning read error very frusrated, and I guess I'm going to have to spend some more money on better quality dvd's.
This is sweet!
By KAIUS on January 17,2004
I bought my second spindle, and I am so glad it's still available. This product has set the standard for all the DVD-Rs out there. Good quality + low price = happy consumers. I haven't seen one disc with bleeding dye yet.
---- RITEK DVD'S ----Best quality, Excellent price!!
By BIGHUN76 on January 15,2004
I'm on about my tenth spindle and have had no coasters. I burn PS2 games and DVD's all without any defects. These are in fact RITEK dvd's which are one of the best type to buy! The darker the dye, the better the quality. A quality DVD is easier on your burner's laser.
Since everyone lists their spec's, here's mine:
480 GB on Serial Raid, 1.5 GB 400 corsair mem., ASUS A7N8X Deluxe mobo, Sony DRU-510A, dual Lite-on 52x's, 2500 Barton (gotta upgrade soon), GeForce4 Ti4800 and Thermaltake Xaser Aluminum case. www.bighun.com

By CHAZ55 on January 08,2004
KENSHINTR is right. I purchased 2 spindles at the
Chula Vista Store in San Diego. 1 Spindle was totally smeared with I don't know what. Could not tell if was due to manufacturing or exposed to something.20 out of 25 were 50% covered in this. Thinking that if I returned them they
would due an exchange. Wow was I wrong. The guy at the counter started picking the bad one's out
and started spraying them with Windex and wiping
them off with some paper towels...repeated this a few time then came over to show me how this one cleaned up. I said to him "Do you see the scratches and swirly mess you made out it".
He fired back with they should work fine. Told
him that he could use them but I wasn't. Thinking
he would exchange them....nope he started cleaning another 1. I told why don't you just exchange these or give me my money back. He reached under the counter and pulled out partial
spindle and started seperating the bad one's from that spindle. After a half hour I left
with a mix of 2 spindles. Now my question is
do they start mixing these in with other spindles. When you buy them they're not sealed in any way. Anyways used 20 so far without
any problems. Remember to check those spindles.
too expensive
By KENSHINTR on January 07,2004
the second pack i bought when it was still 19.99 about 6 of them have smear ink dye and burn error on my sony. when it was 19.99 i wouldnt mind getting some smear but now its 39.99. i would rather cough up some money and get the tdk or memorex at your local retail store.
Generic Ritec A04
By DANNYV on January 06,2004
I've bought 8 packs and used 2 packs so far and burned them all at 4x. The results are fantastic. All play perfect with no artifacts or stalls and not a single coaster. I highly recommend these dvd-r's
By MTMOUSE on January 05,2004
I can buy namebrand -r's at staples for $29.00. Why would someone pay $40.00 for a generic brand?
Oh Well. They were a good deal at 20 bucks though.
By LAKERS3408 on January 04,2004
Awsome deal for Riteks got 8 packs & burned lots of stuff (xbox,ps2,movies & so on) not 1 bad burn all burned at 4x on my A05 (pioneer) & my Sony Dru 500a.

Many dvd were scratched. Too many burned fail.
What can I say? (AVOID,AVOID,AVOID)
You get what you pay for
By RWCAT on December 17,2003
These discs are NO GOOD! If I can even get one to burn without failing during the burn process, compatibility is severely lacking. I've tried to burn about 10 and have a 50% coaster rate. This includes both data and DVD-video and burning at both 2x and 4x.
My advice: Spend a few more cents per disc and save money and time in the long run.
Update on previous REVIEW
By RHK0327 on December 16,2003
Do NOT buy!. These identify as Ritek G04 but there are SMEARS on about 6 of my 25. These ink dye smears do not burn correctly. The only reason that this product has been working well for others is that they have not gotten to the smeared disks yet.
Ritek G04, but ...
By RHK0327 on December 15,2003
These identified as riteks but I found dye smears on the bottoms of many of these. I haven't tried to burn them yet but this is a risky buy.

By MASTERBW on December 12,2003
The pack I've purchased was bad.
I had to refund it.
The dye color looked like zig zag curves on the disc I burned.
Aware!

Great for Class Reunion's
By KENJSMITH on December 05,2003
I had just bought my Sony DVD burner and I was talked into buying these and I have prepared since bought two more of these to finish my 20th Class Reunion DVD for my classmates. I did not have not one problem with these and my lables worked great on the surface. I have even began backing up my home DVD movie collection on them. Way to GO!!!!
bad luck
By KENSHINTR on December 04,2003
um i just bought my first pack of these and already major problem. Almost half of the dvd-r have either scratch or different color dye than the dark purple resulting in skipping and freezing on my dvd player. So far i have two coaster and i havent tried the rest yet. But judging from the review, maybe its just my bad luck that i recieve this pack. I'll give it another try.
They were Riteks when I bought them!
By IAMX on December 02,2003
I don't know what they have on sale NOW, but when I went to buy them (last week), they were the orange topped G04 Riteks. I bought TEN spindles of them. These are the best Riteks I have ever bought as far as quality and compatibility with DVD players, and when I found out that they were selling 25 pc. spindles at $19.99 per spindle, I just about boo-booed my pants! Well, I'm set for a while, but if they have this sale going on by the time I get paid again, I'm getting some MORE of these puppies! You can NEVER have too many blank Orange topped G04 Riteks, and for THAT price? GOD BLESS PC CLUB!
Great for the PLEXTOR PX-708A DVD Burner
By SLVREAGL on November 30,2003
I know when I found these I was hesident to buy them because they were such a great deal. There was no referance to my burner in the forums, so that's why I made this post. I have used 50 of these with out one coaster! Now I need to get more... : ) my buddy uses these in his sony drive and has no problems either, sorry I dont know the model. If you go to the store to pick them up make sure the item no. matches A3458853.

By CCABRALES on November 29,2003

My mostest favoritest media ever. So far the most reliable and compatible DVD-R's that I've used.
Good on ya, PC Club...Please keep stocking the RITEKs.

LOOKS LIKE RITEK!
By DHBBQ on November 21,2003
PURCHASED 50 PCS FROM MONTCLAIR STORE AND THEY WORK BEAUTIFULLY.THE DARK PURPLE DYE LOOKS LIKE THAT OF THE VERY RELIABLE RITEK MEDIA.THE ONLY NEG. I CAN SEE IS THE NOT SO DESIREABLE ORANGE & BLACK ARTWORK ON TOP.OTHERWISE THEY BURN @ 4X FLAWLESSLY ON MY PIONEER DVR-105 WITH HACKED VER. OF LATEST FIRMWARE RELEASE (VER. 1.33).
Not 4x Media
By RUSSCRANDALL on November 20,2003
I have the Pioneer DVR-105 drive, which supports 4x media. It has the 2x crack (allows 1x media to be burned at 2x) and it will burn a movie in about 30 minutes. Using 1x, 2x, or even 4x burn settings, they take 45 minutes.
Im not sure what speed media this is, but its not 4x. Cheap, it works, i've made no coasters, but its not 4x media.
Had issues
By MYKWARD on November 13,2003
Only burn at 1X with a new Liteon 4X burner. Even tho UDMA is enabled and on its own IDE channel. For some reason tho, the 4X R and RW disk that came with the burner seem to burn at 4.5X. I will support the user who says "do not buy generic"
But that is my opinion
No Probs
By RUBADUB2 on November 06,2003
After flashing my NEC 4x drive they work great.. the best buy out there.. make sure and flash it with the right flash and thy will burn at 4x.. the 2x and 1x will not work in my drive though
Didn't work and they won't take them back
By MLOVENTHAL on November 06,2003
Bought these on the recommendation of store clerk when he sold me my NEC1300A and they wouldn't work due to a defect. It was over 30 days and they wouldn't take them back. Don't buy generic.
Good Quality But Only Write At 2x
By MJMARTINEZ81 on October 18,2003
I purchased these to use with my NEC ND-1300A DVD +/- RW drive. The DVD's are good quality, but they only write at 2X even after flashing the firmware for my DVD writer.
By MEGA on October 17,2003
I've been using these DVD-R for almost a year now... the price keeps getting lower for an outstanding solid and durible recordable media that other brand names can't compare to. I've noticed & am sure you have too the weak and flemsy product of other media makes me think twice about what storing my data.
Ritek or Not Ritek
By MARUZO on October 15,2003
To IAMX:
I was just over at the Club this weekend and saw their new 4X dvd-r discs. I was going to get a few packs but then i noticed that the color of the dyes were a light purple compared with the Ritek G04s that they were carrying. Can you verify the disc manufacturers? From the faded purplish shades, i'm guessing it's probably princo or CMC Mag, but i could be wrong.
great deal on these
By BASICAIR1 on October 14,2003
i have now purchased/burned more than 8 spindles of this clear 4x media from my local PC Club. that's over 200 of these discs. i have not had a single bad burn yet. no coasters. these discs are superb.
if you buy dvd-r media online from other companies for a cheaper price, you risk buying media that may not burn at the right speed, may not burn period, may not play in most dvd players. i know, i've done it myself as have many of my friends. i've even got a friend who's bought a 50 pack of Memorex dvd-r media and had about 1/3 of them defective. these generics from PC Club are excellent and i recommend them to everyone. i hope they get 50 or 100 packs in sometime, too.
Was glad when they sold the Riteks
By IAMX on October 09,2003
I agree about the orange topped Riteks. PC Club hit the jackpot when they got those. I only had the money to buy 2 spindles hen they had them, but I wish I had the money to buy TEN. The next time I went back (about 2 weeks later), they were sold out of the Riteks. I talked to a rep, and they'll never be getting them again. They'll probably never get Riteks again, period. These things that they're selling now (Item: A3458853) are NOT good quality discs. After heavy use, the discs will begin to freeze and skip during play. To whoever reads this, if I were you, I would not use those discs they have on sale now if you plan on backing up any important movies or other media. These discs they're selling now DO wear out rather quickly.
Sony Dru 500a
By BADRC on October 09,2003
I got a pack of these and had firmware 1.0g and 4x burned at 1x. I upgraded firmware to 2.0g and 4x burned at 2x. I tried the rest of the firmwares for my drive and no luck. Sony says it needs "Name Brand Compatible Media" these are considered cheap media by sony. But I recorded half a stack and no coasters. I will just stick to the 2x for now. Just in case anyone cares my specs are 2.0ghz 512 ddr 160gig HD windows xp SP1.
Agreed, let's have the Ritek media again
By TREVMAR on October 02,2003
I bought some orange-top Ritek media a month ago. It was hard to find somehere to write on the label, but the disks were extremely good, excellent compatibility. I tried one in every DVD palyer at Circuit City with no failures - everyone was read. While the clear disks are also reasonably good PC-Club should keep trying to get the Ritek 04 imaging layer...
4x media now appears to be Primeon instead of Ritek G04
By RBPCCINAZ on September 30,2003
I loved the orange-top Ritek 4x media that PC Club had for a while. The quality was excellent and I had no problems. My local store ran out, so I ordered online and when they arrived instead of being the Ritek media I had hoped for, they were clear-top media which I finally identified as Primeon on the Internet, so I only bought 1 Primeon pack to sample instead of a bunch of Riteks as I had planned. Here's to hoping PC Club will get the orange-top Riteks back in stock someday for the same price as before.
No 4x w/Sony DRU-510A
By TRAVBOT on September 29,2003
These disc's have an orange top with 4x printed clearly, but will only burn @ 2x with my DRU-510A firmware 1.0c.
WORKS PERFECT MY PIONEER AO5
By CCABRALES on September 28,2003
Thought they were Ritek G04's but were not. Its still pretty good media and works well in the X-Box and PS2.
Works GREAT with Pioneer A05!!!!!!!!!
By KEWHARTON on September 10,2003
This is fabulous media! I've burned about 75 so far, all at 4x, and not a coaster in the bunch. All on a Pioneer A05 with upgraded firmware. They have an unusual orange top, but who cares; fast, reliable media!
By LEROYARNDT on September 06,2003
Works fine at 4x on a Teac dual format drive
Works great!
By DONDIDONDI on September 06,2003
I bought a pack of the A3458853 DVD-R Media and they work great. I use a Sony DRU500-A with the latest firmware and they burn at 4x every time.
THESE ARE 1X ONLY!!!!!!!!!!
By CHITO on September 02,2003
I GOT THESE DVD-R THAT SAY 4X RIGHT ON THE TOP OF THEM AND I HAVE A NEW PIONEER A06U THAT I JUST GOT 2 DAYS AGO AND THEY WILL ONLY BURN AT 1X, NOT EVEN 2X! I DONT KNOW HOW THEY WILL DO ON SONY OR OTHER BURNERS BUT FROM WHAT I READ THEY ARE 1X ON PIONEER DRIVES EVEN WITH UPGRADED FIRMWARE. THIS SUCKS. OH WELL. DONT BUY IF YOU HAVE A PIONEER. BEWARE TO EVERYONE ELSE.
These are 1x media and NOT 4x
By ZDOUWES on August 30,2003
These disks do not burn at 4X or 2X on my Pioneer DVD-105. I have the latest firmware 1.33 and tried to burn these disks with several DVD softwares and they all write at 1X. Evidently, these dvd's are RITEKG03 and only burn at 1X and on some recorders they will burn at 2X. If I'm not mistaken only the RITEKG04 will burn at 1X,2X and 4X. I'm going to do some more research on these DVD's, because I think I got ripped off!!
I got ritek g03's 1x - NOT 4X
By CEALONSO2 on August 30,2003
I got ghe media coded RITEKG03 discs. WILL NOT BURN AT 4X OR EVEN 2X. Will only burn at 1x on my pioneer dvr-105 which I have updated to the latest available firmware version.
The label on the discs does say 4x - ????????
What can I say they work
By JRAGUINDIN on August 26,2003
Let's see you go through o 25. They all work. So how should I rate this product. OK 5 Stars. The newer versions are shipping with some crazy label on it.

RITEK!
By DHBBQ on June 11,2003
BEST MEDIA ON THE MARKET HANDS DOWN! I HAVE USED ABOUT 65 OF 100 AND NOT ONE COASTER ( I DONT THINK I'LL GET ONE EITHER ). HIGHLY RECOMENDED FOR PIONEER AO5 / 105 DRIVES.
GREAT MEDIA
By CCABRALES on May 31,2003
These are the Ritek G04 and have a very high compatibility rating for DVD players. Outstanding quality! A must for all DVD-recorders. -
The discs which are causing the problems are the ones described as 'Landscape', 'Mountain Water' or 'Mountains and Streams' and should be avoided at all costs.
