  1. Does the LaCie 8X Dual DVD+/- RW Drive do what it ir reports to do?

Does a typical DVD 4.4G copy made in Toast 6 reduce one half time to 6.5 minutes?

Is there 8X media for sale or can you get the 8X results using 4X media?

If you can, no speculation if possible, does anybody have one of these drives to report on first hand?

Or you have to flash using the "Nil" RPC1 firmware to simply be able to burn at 8x the good quality 4x DVDs.

  5. I bought a spindle of generic 4x media from Fry's. After flashing the LaCie with the 1.10 hacked firmware it burns the media at 8x. I have had one or two failures out of maybe 20 disks. I also burned three or four 2x TDK media at 8x w/o any failures. I just burned a 3.2 GB image and with lead-in, lead-out and some buffering here and there it took just under 8 minutes.
