    i have a LaCie d2 16x burner (DiscRecording 1.2.5 driver) with mac os 10.3.9 and toast 6.0.5.

this is my first attempt at burning double layer and i have Verbatim Double Layer DVD+R 2.4x discs.

i'm getting the following error :-

    Sense Key Illegal Request
    Sense Code = 0x72, 0x03
    Session Fixation Error
    Incomplete track in session.

so i've had one burn fail and in simulation mode i've tried slowing burn speed down to 1x and i get this error :-

    Sense Key = MEDIUM ERROR
    Sense Code = 0x73, 0x03

i've been trying to find out a solution online for an hour, so i'm hoping someone here may be able to offer some help or advice ?

    thanks,

Toast 6.0.5 does not support DL burning. That wasn't added until 6.0.7. There also are Quicktime changes that led to further Toast 6 updates. The version you need to use is 6.1.1 which is a free download at Roxio's support site.

i have actually been trying to get the 6.1.1 updater from the roxio site but i'm having problems registering. i have tried to open accounts with 3 different email addresses and i've still not received any registration confirmation details from them, so i can't follow the download link.

You should only need one account, the
one you originally bought Toast under as a
direct download, or the one you originally
    registered the serial number under
    at the Toast website.

Too many logins and email addresses and you'll need to
call Sutomer service to get it all reset...which I had to do
when my corporate email account changed.

What happens when you just login to the website?
Does it take you to the My Account page and show
    your registered product?
From there, you should be able 2 get to the Software Updates Page.....

If you Google for the Toast 6.1.1 update, there is a page mostly in Japanese that doesn't ask for a product key or email addy. The download is in English and the link is undertandable in English.

i cannot log in to the roxio website. it didn't recognise any of my old email addresses, so that's why i tried to register again. i've still not received any email from them.

i did manage to upgrade to 6.0.7 though & have now burned the discs after a few more coasters. it seemed like i could only get a reliable burn if i restart the computer before each one.

however, though the discs play in standalones, and in the burner, they will not mount in my powerbook g4 / os 10.3.8 - is this normal ?

    thanks all,

    go here:

click on the link for 6.1.1 and it will java script you to the actual download page. The file is a zip. "Right click save as" and download. I made the link above non-clickable so roxio doesn't see it as traffic from this site. Cut and paste the link above without the ><
