  1. I recently purchased the LG 4081B 8X drive and after looking on the net i found out i had to update the firmware which I did. When my computer boots up it will say A101 which tells me its updated. Also when I run the update program it says my current version is A101. I was wondering why I still cannot write at 4x. I have used Nero 6 and Easy Cd Creator and still only 2X. I have 4X media which I want to write to. One possible explanation I can think of, is that I did not have my burner plugged as the Master on the second chain because I have my Linux drive as my Master when i updated the firmware. Wasn't sure if that was going to screw anything up in terms of my dual-boot. If you know please let me know.

Im running windows Xp pro sp1, p4. 1.8ghz, 769mb SDram, etc....

    Ne help is appreciated!

  3. goto dvd media on your left and check the media that can write at 4X with the 4081 and use those instead.
