I have a set of 4 SVCD files, adding up to a single movie. The 4 SVCD each play fine. I extracted the MPEG files and put them all together using DVTool. I now have 1 single MPEG2, which is actually in sync (which also took some work with BESWEET).
I want to burn this single MPEG2 (3 GB) to a DVD-R. I normally use Spruce to create the VIDEO_TS folder.
In this case, Spruce just sits there at zero% and then errors out with some 'invalid resolution' error.
I have tried with Ulead DVDMovieFactory 2, same thing.
Some research indicates there is a tool, which allows you to change the header. When I try this (change the initial header to 'horizontal resolution 352' instead of 480, the MPEG2 is no longer cleanly playable, with a wide band of artifacts on the left.
I don't know what else to try at this point.
I have tried using TMPGENC to re-encode the entire file, but it won't even recognize the file.
Help, anyone?

see the whole svcd2dvdr forum here ....
also -- you can do this with dvdlab
or you can re-encode the whole thing
or you can just play your svcd as svcds"Each problem that I solved became a rule which served afterwards to solve other problems." - Rene Descartes (1596-1650) -
BJ_M,
Thank you for your reply. I hang out in these forums and read the howto's quite a bit.
So when you say re-encode, exactly how and with which tools?
