I am using Microsoft free Photo Story 3 to create slide shows set to music. The output of
this is a .WMV file. I use "ConvertX to DVD" to create my DVDs of the show. It works fine.

However, I have been called upon by neighbors and friends to teach them how to do what I do.
What I would like to do is to teach them how to use WIN tools to do the conversion and burn
to DVD, rather than have them purchase a $40 piece of software.

Can this be done and could someone give me a little "How To" on this?

    Thanks much,

Why not show/teach them how to do it like you apparently successfully did it,except use FAVC or DVDFlick for free....

Take a look through the guides: https://www.videohelp.com/guides?searchtext=&tools=&madeby=&formatconversionselect=WMV+...or+List+Guides

There are several tools that you may find useful....plus a guide would be helpful for someone new.

    Thanks much for the information.

I tried DVDFlick but it came back with an error: Video Codec "Microsoft potostory 2" is unsupported. Bummer, as this looked nice and simple and did a one-step convert and burn.

I did not try FVAC as yet because I would favor a program that does convert and burn. Apparently,
    FVAC does not burn.

I reviewed the guides and nothing jumped out at me as being free that would convert .WMV to
DVD and then burn the disk.

Can you think of anything else that I might try?

FAVC is bundled with ImgBurn which will burn it for you.
