  1. I've just forked out for version 3 of this program and for some reason i cant even get to start making a dvd before it crashes.
    I click "create video disc"
    I Choose "Dvd"
I then get a message saying "Ulead DVD Moviefactory has encountered a problem and needs to close.
I click for more info and it just says the following:

    Error signature
    AppName: dvdmf.exe
    AppVer: 3.0.0.1
    ModName: ffdshow.ax
    ModVer: 0.0.0.0
    Offset: 0006d511

    And I get this EVERYTIME!!!!
    Anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks

  2. Is it possible the time has arrived when a reformat of C: (system) drive and a clean reinstallation of Microsoft Windows might be advised?

  3. MF3 used to crash for me all the time. This helped to cut down on the crashes: Make sure you "save" your project before you do anything. And make sure you continue to "save" or "ctrl-s" frequently. This didn't stop it from crashing, but in dramatically cut down on the frequency of crashes.

Sounds like a simplistic answer, but it worked for me.

Or switch to TMPGEnc DVD Author, which NEVER crashes.

I think you have a corrupted installation or driver / dll conflicts. I have a similar system including the PVR-250 (one up from WinTV) card and have had zero problems. Specialist's suggestion about starting with a fresh install may not be a bad idea. An alternative might be experimenting with removing "suspect" apps one at a time that involve video processing and then trying it again. Reloading MF3 as you remove major apps is a good idea.

It can be tough if not impossible to find these conflicts. Sometimes you burn more time looking than just reloading everything. If you do reload, I would load MF3 early in the process and test it. If it works, keep checking it everytime you load a new driver or app. Not sure how they perform now but I know that ATI used to cause a lot of driver problems for me but that was several years ago.

By the way, the ULEAD website does not show WinTV as being a supported capture card.
