    Does anyone know if there is a way to get DVD onto a VHS tape.

    Our car has a VHS player in the back, and it's sometimes a pain to bring the laptop jsut to watch DVDs during the ride. Just wondering. Or is it somewhat impossible to do it.

    You're going to need a device like this to do that http://www.facetvideo.com/ . I had this gadget and for kicks tried it going from DVD to VHS and it worked perfect.

    Why noy hook up your DVD output to VCR input and press play on the DVD and record on the VCR ?

    If you are backing up commercial DVDs to VHS just be sure your DVD player is macro free. Then do as jimmalenko suggests.
