  1. Right I have some questions about my machine.

    My motherboard is 800 FSB

I have just run a benchtest and it says that it is running at 200fsb, how do I change that.

Secondly I have AGP 8 and it says that it is running at 2. Can someone explain this to me please.

  2. Russ,

I can explain the FSB for you. You must be using an Intel chip. These chips "quad-pump" the FSB, so a motherboard-side FSB of 200MHz becomes 800MHz chip-side. AMD double-pump the FSB, so 200MHz becomes 400MHz. Your diagnostic is reading motherboard-side FSB.

As for the AGP slot, what kind of card is in there? If it's an older AGP 2x card, I think the slot changes the voltage to 3.something volts (as opposed to the newer 1.something) and so it will probably register as AGP 2x. I'm not too sure about this explanation, though - just a stab in the dark.

    Hope this helps,

  3. For the video card check my specs

So even though it says 200 it is really at four because it is "quad pumping"

  5. the 8x AGP is odd man!!!

try going into the BIOS and making sure there isn;t some kind of setting limiting your AGP speed.

also, make sure you have the latest drivers for your motherboard! these will include the AGP drivers, as if these are not installed it will prob only run at 2x!
1)Why Not Overclock a little?! speed 4 free!!!!
    2) If your question has anything to do with copying PS2/PC/XBox games, find a more appropriate website

  6. The AGP timing you can change in the BIOS. AGP is 8X times the speed of the PCI slots. I think it's 66mhz so that's 8x66.

As for your FSB speed, your RAM might not support 800mhz. 800mhz is the max speed your motherboard can handle.

That link says it runs at 500mhz. 200mhz is still wrong and you can fix that in the BIOS too.
