I've recently come across the problem of the video freezing up "briefly' while the audio is unaffected and then the video corrects itself. This only happens when I take small clips from many DVD's to create one. I've been using solely DVD Shrink 3.1.6 I'll backup the clips into their own folder and then for the final cut, I'll join then all together back in DVD Shrink and burn them.

I have not come across this problem when burning full movies. Any suggestions?

I bet the bitrate of the re-created DVD disc is higher than your player can handle. Unfortunately, many DVD players cannot handle the bitrates requried for the best quality possible.

So, see if you can find a setting to limit bitrates when coding the m2v or VOB (or WAV/AC3) files.
