    Are there any easy instructions to using the Reauthor mode, or can someone give a quick tutorial on it? I tried it, but get strange results, so I'm thinking that I'm just not getting it...
    ie: keeping menus, removing extras, etc...

    easy instructions? hmmm well your trying to keep menus while reauthoring... and trying to remove extras while retaining menus. Best bet is to use Nero Recode2 or Elby CloneDVD. Or if you're advanced then use menuedit, dvdstripper, titleblanker, etc.

    http://www.dvdshrink.info would be a good place to start. There are also guides here to the left under DVD rip, and at http://www.doom9.org There are a few 'hidden' features in re-author mode that are pretty cool to play with.
