  1. Can anybody outthere answer a question for me? I am using 40pin IDE cable's for my DVD ROM drives and my DVD-R drives, During the ripping process the two drives which are on the same channel as M/S, tend to syncronize there ripping speed, will exchanging out the 40pin cable for an 80pin cable, split the data channel or make no difference?

    Probably no difference with DVD or CD drives, but 80 pin has more grounding leads and can possibly be more immune to electrical noise. I use 80 pin for everything. Can't hurt.

  3. 80pin = ATA133
    40pin = ATA100/66/33
    They moved to 80pin for ATA133 because at that speed they need the ground pins to maintain the integrity of the signal.
