  1. I have a 4x benq dw400a burner. It takes aprox. 30 min to burn an entire dvd, which is ok with me. I have been burning memorex +r and now ritek +r and both burn great in 30 min. I put in a no brand +rw that came with the burner the other day, and it burned in 15 min. What gives? Am I only burning at 2.4x with the +r media and for some reason buring the +rw at 4x?
I am very confused on this one. Any thoughts are appreciated.
    thanks

I would suggest you not use DVD X COPY PLATINUM. Try using DVD SHRINK to back up your dvds. It's a free program and easy to use. The latest version has NERO BURN built in. Also try using DVD DECRYPTER which can rip a movie and if it's a single layer dvd called dvd-5. Then you can use it to rip and create a iso image & also burn your dvd using DVD DECRYPTER. Check the guides on the left for more info.

Memorex dvd media is crappy if it's manufactured by CMC. You can check the dvd media using DVDINFO PRO.

  5. thanks,
yes I have found out that x-copy is crap, and now am using a combination of the following:
    -DVDFab
    -DVD Decrypter
    -DVD Lab
    -DVD2DVD-R
    -and my favorite DVD Shrink!

However, I can still only burn in 30 min. with +r disks. Nero even says that the burn should take aprox 15 min. when it starts to burn, but it still takes 30.
This one realy has me. Don't +r and +rw burn in the same way, only the +rw can be erased and re-writen?

    ANy other thoughts???
