tmpgenc author and ac3 problem

I've stripped the ac3 out of an avi file using vitualdub mod, when i go to tmpgenc dvd author and load it up i get "illegal audio format" warning. I've done a few dvd authors with ac3 and haven't had this problem before. Anyone any ideas?

try running ac3fix on the file and then load it in. also check and make sure its up to dvd spec. I've seen a few Divx with AC3 audio sampled at 44100 instead of 48000.
