    I have folowed all proceedures as outlined:Ripped DVD with Smart Ripper, encoded with DVDx and Burned with VCD Easy, all without any errors. However, the burned CD just shows folders and will not play on stand alone DVD player. Can you help me?

    Can you play it on your computer using PowerDVD or similar ?

    Are you sure your settop box plays VCDs or burnt CDRs ?
    If in doubt, Google it.

    The only way it will play on my computer is to open windows media palyer, click open and find the file in the video folder on the cd. I have played burned music cds on stand alone player. I have also tried Nero only to get the same results. I am running XP. This whole process took me about 8 to 9 hours.

    Check your player's compatibility in DVD Players to the left. See if it is listed as playing VCDs.
    If in doubt, Google it.

    Thank You. I just checked and it will not play VCD/SVCD, it will only play MP3 & WMA. No need to convert at this time I guess.
