What I hope to do is create a few master copies of dvd-r discs which I may need to copy every so often if I manage to sell them on E-Bay or some other site. Roughly 10 different discs.

Is it time consuming every time I want to copy a dvd-r disc or can the discs be read and be ready for duplication in a few mins??

What is the best quality to use as a master disc or does it matter?

I'm in the UK so presumably all DVD players here are PAL and I will not need to convert any footage to NTSC??

Lastly, how does this sound as software. Adobe 6.5 for editing and DVDIt PE for authoring??

Why don't you keep them on your HD ? Then all you have to do is burn them each time.
    If in doubt, Google it.

    DVD Decrypter

mode > ISO > read - to copy the disc
mode > ISO > write - to burn the new disc

Many North American DVD players will play and convert PAL on the fly. Mine does but I don't know the percentage.

I'll keep as much as I can on my HD. I've got 80 GB, I was just thinking I would need a lot of room for when I'm capturing the digital footage prior to encoding to MPEG. If I can I will.
